set a secondary ip address on interface (iftab doesn't work?!)

couldn't find doco on a proper way to do this

iftab didn't take
rc.local nope

in the end i dropped a script into roots crontab that checks for the address on
the interface and if its not there, adds it with

ifconfig <int> add <ip>/<cidr>
